Woman Sues Chicago Radio Station Over Unrewarded Corvette

With all the radio station contest running, and wiht the most infamous Hold you Wee Contest that killed somebody, here is another twist to the radio station contest. In a news covered by FoxNews, Undocumented Woman Sues Chicago Radio Station Over Unrewarded Corvette.

Juice of the story “A 22-year-old woman is suing a Chicago Spanish-language radio station over allegations that they refuse to give her the car she won in a contest because she’s undocumented.”

There is two sides to the coin, one, the lady is an illegal and has no social security # which makes her illegal (in the country) and therefore, ineligible to receive the prize cos a SS # is needed for the station to inform the IRS.

But I think the station should have announce, “Car giveaway contest, terms apply” like what you would hear for those annoying car commercials.

What do you think?

  1. “…the lady is an illegal and has no social security # which makes her illegal (in the country) …”

Not having social security number doesnt mean you are illegal. FYI you can also get a Tax identification Number from IRS to pay necessary taxes obviously you will still have to prove you are either a citizen or a legitimate resident.

    No SSN doesnt mean illegal.

There are thousands and thousands of people in this country without SSN. eg students that are on F-1 visas many of whom may not be working, so why do they need SSN. For them to get SSN, they will have to get permission from the DHS. So they can have a number to tag their lives to.

    Read up.

  2. Most sweepstakes publish rules that include eligibility. If the radio station has documented sweepstakes rules that include eligibility for United States residents only – then the alleged winner doesn’t have a leg to stand on.

  3. She is illegal and has no right to be here! She needs to be arrested and sent back to her own country ASAP!!
